Our Artist Of The Month for July is Asylums! We invited Jazz and Luke down to our store in Covent Garden, to discuss what it takes to #BeAnOriginal, their latest release and everything in-between!

Asylums are a breath of fresh air, a band willing to put in the hard graft and get their music out to the masses on their own fiercely DIY terms. This unique ‘doing everything their own way’ attitude has generated big results. Their mega single ‘Necessary Appliances’, championed by BBC Radio 1, 6Music, and Radio X amongst others with slots at Bestival and other prestigious festivals to prepare for later in the year!

ASYLUM-3182

Asylums have created a snapshot of a band and country in a state of change. They may have killer pop hooks, but there’s no bubblegum here – songs about the death of high street retail, austerity, and rampant consumerism have helped  these lads generate a raw, alive, knife-edge live show, synonymous with this group every time they take to the stage.

With a social media blackout for the first three singles, ‘Killer Brain Waves’ is the culmination of a two year slow burn and it’s been well worth the wait!

Watch the epic video for ‘Necessary Appliances’ below!
