Field Studies enjoyed some winter EP recording hibernation and returned last month with epic new material. The long-awaited follow up to their mesmerising debut ‘Celestial’ sees Field Studies explore more raw, bleak textures, capturing the eerie environment of their frozen suburban recording space across 4 haunting tracks.

The new ‘Rainmaking‘ EP is top stuff, with the single ‘Crook’ grabbing some serious Plugged In Track Of The Week attention! With a interesting story behind it, this tune is truly encapsulating. Radiohead esque vibes, fused with some serious Talk Talk influence, ‘Crook’ is a fine display of Field Studies hard work.

The story:

‘Crook’ was largely inspired by a strange situation that Andrew (the drummer) found himself in a few years ago, where he and his parents saw an assumed criminal being chased by police officers in central London. According to Andy, the guy mocked him directly as he ran by for not having the courage to step in. To literally be in the act of fleeing from the police, but still make time to critique other people’s moral fibre is quite an achievement’.

A track more than worthy of the Plugged In Track Of The Week title, from an EP set to storm this summer.
