Our iconic Earl Polo Shirt, which has been a hero piece for us since 1955, returned bigger and better than ever during Autumn/Winter 16! To celebrate this hero piece and give it the respect it deserves, we put together a photo shoot of bands & artists rocking the legendary Black Earl Polo Shirt in London.

Gillian Carter and ex Gallows guitarist Steph Carter are up next in this series, joining us at iconic North London venue, The Finsbury, to celebrate true hero pieces from our collection. What a year 2016 was for Ghost Riders, with countless sell-out performances and the release of their debut album, ‘The Death Of Everything New’, you’re set for more Rock ‘n’ Roll perfection in 2017!

Oozing riffs with passion and staying true to that British indie rock sound is a guarantee with Ghost Riders. Intimate acoustic sets will also capture your imagination and put this lot firmly on your map, simply a must see in 2017. Become fully immersed into the Ghost Riders way, once the melodies of this quintet flow through your veins you’ll be captured. Playing prowess that’ll have you mesmerised, Ghost Riders are truly a top outfit. Steph looks spot on in our Black Earl Polo Shirt as well!

We caught up with Steph and Gillian for an exclusive Q&A!

1. What does it mean to you to ‘Be An Original’?

STEPH – Just be myself!

GILLIAN – Being an original really means being true to yourself, whatever that is. We’re all inevitably a product of our surroundings and influences, but being an original is all about finding yourself and growing into the ultimate version of you.

2. Tell us about your latest release?

STEPH – We released our final single from ‘The Death of Everything New’ at the end of 2016.

GILLIAN – The song is called ‘Now I See’ – it’s all about a toxic friendship breaking down and having to move on, realising you just can’t save someone from themselves. A lot of times these breakups are harder to process than romantic relationships. My writing is always reflecting what’s going on in my life, and the second album is getting darker and heavier on all fronts.

STEPH – It’s been an interesting ride to get this far.  We’re sporadically hitting the road this year to finish the touring cycle for album one while we continue to smash out album 2!  Next up we’ll be taking to the stage in April…

Sunday 9th – Birmingham – Sunflower Lounge

Monday 10th – Bristol – The Louisiana

Tuesday 11th – Nottingham – Red Rooms

Wednesday 12th- London – The Garage (Upstairs)

 3. Who’s your top ICON and why?

STEPH – It’s hard to say.  If we’re looking at it from a musical angle it’s all about David Gilmour and that incredible guitar tone.  One of the most identifiable tones in music.

GILLIAN –  Icons are difficult and I prefer to stay away from that kind of mentality. But if I had to choose just one, it would have to be Alison Mosshart from The Kills. I love that the music she and Jamie creates isn’t restricted by genre. There aren’t many strong female fronted rock bands and she’s absolutely fearless and unapologetic in her approach vocally, on stage, and in writing.
