There are tunes that come along and really strike up an emotional connection with you, Scottish 7-piece, Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire, return with just such a track. ‘Violet’ (from ‘Swithering’ album out 25th Nov) is a 4 min beauty that encapsulates the true sound of RH&TLF, former Scottish ‘Album Of The Year’ nominees these guys are back better than ever, right on the top of their game.

After an incredible, 6 (yes 6) appearances on prestigious ‘The Late Show’ on US TV,  going from strength to strength would be an understatement for how well it’s going for these chaps at the moment!

‘Violet’ displays a darker meaning however; ‘Violet’ is a song written for missing people; those individuals who are in our lives and then disappear without warning. I was interested in the idea of not really knowing a person – their inner thoughts, fears, and struggles – or truly understanding what’s going on underneath the surface of a life.’ With these themes throughout, it’s a truly thought provoking track, that has you captured from the first chord.

More than worthy, it earns the Plugged In Track Of The Week title!
