Stevie Appleton has shared three min pop triumph ‘Supposed To Do’! Falling right in the sweet spot of organic and electronic, this tune shows just what a force to be reckoned with S.A will be this summer.

Although influenced by song-writing legends such as Fleetwood Mac and Jeff Buckley, Stevie has spent the past couple of years writing and producing for Dutch label, Spinnin’ Records. Stevie comments, “I turned up to a writing camp in Holland with my guitar not knowing what to expect and just had the most incredible experience,” he recalls. “I went in with a singer-songwriter approach and it was brilliant how that was produced into a completely different genre, it was kind of a buzz actually”.

In a similar tale to Ministry of Sound and indie three-piece London Grammar, Stevie was discovered by Spinnin’ Records. New single ‘Supposed To Do’ shows exactly how this singer-songwriter is really going from strength to strength. A propulsive, bass-driven groove, written over a vintage drum break is exactly what Summer 18 is calling out for!

Because ‘Supposed To Do’ spans so many genres, it could be labelled as a singer songwriter, it touches on soul, it could be labelled as dance,” Stevie says. “This happened by accident,”he continues. “I’ve always been into creating a fusion between different genres, so I just thought – why not? I’m doing something that I love.” The best bit about it all? It sounds like something he’s supposed to do.

‘Supposed To Do’ is bossing Track Of The Week status!
